SOURCES
This source record separates direct contributor material, published/open-source material, and the ranking data used in the market analysis. Direct interview and response material is treated as primary evidence; published-source comparisons are identified separately.
PRIMARY INTERVIEW AND CONTRIBUTOR RECORD
Manufacturer / industry record: the fifty-one named manufacturer, brand, and industry voices listed in the Contributors section. Guy Fieri and Jorge Padrón are published-source comparisons rather than direct study interviews. Lew Rothman responses are preserved as a historical industry / retail source.
Retail record: Abe Dababneh, Eric Drazen, Stephen Frank, Jerry Gavito Jr., Tucker Hobbie, Jeff Martinez, Charles Oxendine, Vick Shah, Alan Shuminer, Tim Swanson, Jorge Valdes, and Dan Wood.
Wholesale / distribution record: two experienced industry operators with retail and wholesale/distribution backgrounds. Their identities are withheld in the manuscript; their preserved responses are part of the working source-control record.
Media / community record: more than twenty-five media, cigar-community, and lifestyle participants. Their responses informed the qualitative analysis and are quoted in the final manuscript, but they are not individually attributed. Their identities and complete responses remain in the working source-control record.
Author observation: trade-show placement, retailer traffic, humidor behavior, event culture, digital participation, community visibility, release behavior, and market presence are used as observational evidence where expressly identified as such.

RANKING AND CONSENSUS DATA, 2020 - 2025
For the ranking analysis, the first twenty-five positions were counted from each annual list, even where a publication ranked more than twenty-five cigars. Percentages in the manuscript are the author’s aggregation of those annual placements across the 2020–2025 period.

SOURCE PROVENANCE NOTES
Direct Q&A and preserved contributor responses remain the controlling source where available. Manuscript-preserved fallback material is used only where the fuller raw response no longer survives. Published-source comparisons are not represented as direct interviews conducted for this project.
Translations from Spanish-language contributor responses are identified in the working source record. Anonymous wholesale/distribution and media/community responses remain unattributed by design.
The research base also includes working notes, preserved emails, interview-response files, ranking worksheets, and source-control documents maintained during the project. Those internal materials support the manuscript but are not public-facing publications and therefore do not carry public URLs.
